When an Executive Director leaves an organization, especially if it is suddenly or without notice, it creates a vacuum in a nonprofit that can cause problems.
Programs and services can be disrupted. Staff and volunteers can become distracted from the mission. The Board of Directors has to scramble to find a replacement quickly.
As the Interim Executive Director, Bill can fill the gap to ensure the continuity of programs and services. He can ease concerns and help staff and volunteers keep their focus through a time of transition, Bill will also work with the Board to assist with the process of bringing on a new, permanent Executive Director.
Bill will assist the Board on succession planning including a review of the ED job description, job posting and recruiting, reviewing applicants, interviewing, hiring and onboarding of the new ED.
Bill can be contracted on a part-time or full-time basis to fill in for a short-term (a few weeks) or long-term (a few months) based on what is needed and Bill's availability.
